Every relationship is forged only by the mutual choosing of two persons.
If I ask you to be my friend and you say No, then there cannot be a friendship. I must choose to let you be my friend. You must also choose to let me by your friend. If either of us changes that choice, the friendship is broken and the relationship no longer exists. Divorce is the ultimate in relationship breaking. Divorce is not limited to "marriage." Divorce in a larger sense is the breaking or dissolution of any relationship. The only difference between marital relationships and other relationships is the presence of physical, sexual intimacy. 808
