Every bit of change in our emotions is based on our feelings. Every feeling we have is based on something that we believe, and everything we believe is something we have been taught to believe by someone else, and that we have also desired to embrace. Absolute truth does exist. However, truth for you and truth for me is that which we perceive to be true even if our perceptions are wrong! Our truth is relative because we got it from our relatives! When I choose to believe that some culture is inferior to my own, then my prejudice kicks in when I am in the presence of people in that lower culture, and I feel like I don't want them to be in my space. My mind then thinks of what I am going to do about resolving that conflict. Do I leave? Do I make them leave? Do I call them names until they want to leave? Or whatever. And of course my mouth and my body follow through with those expressions.
The bottom line is that my perceptions of truth, since I choose to believe them, makes them my reality regardless of what others believe or what is actually true. Every emotional feeling I have is instigated by someone or something either affirming or rejecting what I believe. Every feeling I have, tends to stimulate thinking about what I will do or say regarding the feeling (which might include silence or inactivity). My expression of words or deeds results from this progression. Achieving a stress free life requires an understanding that the reason I feel miserable a lot of the time is a result of my own choices. If what I have chosen to believe and others' reactions to that choice make me miserable,
I CAN MAKE ANOTHER CHOICE TO BELIEVE SOMETHING DIFFERENT!
Even our addictions arise from the need to escape from the misery caused when others do or say things to us. In our pursuit of peace, we will always (and every one does this) turn to either substance, sex or service as a means of escape. Service is a socially acceptable escape. However, we have all sorts of programs and treatments for those whose addictive behaviors are socially unacceptable. We generally do not consider "service" to be addictive behavior, but when it is simply a means to escape from misery, it is. The bottom line is that stress of any kind may cause us to seek escape from the pressure.
The webinars that we offer will help you understand the pressures and how to deal with them without running from them and how to relieve the pressure by means of exerting an equal amount of pressure against that stress which results in a personal peace and tranquility that can only be achieved by understanding and properly handling the stress.
